How much sleep should I be getting a night?
January 6th, 2009
How much sleep you need at night and how much sleep is needed for a good body is two completely different things. 8 hours is the general guideline and what we as personal trainers as advise for most people for both a healthy body and can easily be fitted into most lifestyles. For stronger fitter bodies I tend to recommend about 9 as i find the body repair better with this amount of sleep. Don’t oversleep to often though this can be negative to and make you very lethargic. Too little sleep is the major problem in London. People work very hard in the city very late nights and very early mornings. Yes you can live on 5 hours sleep but is very bad for your body. Little sleep can cause you to put on more fat and sleep helps reduce stress levels so don’t cut your sleep down too much.
