Make cardio fun

Most people say the reason they don’t run on the treadmill for a long time is that they get bored very quickly.  We have put together a list of a few things you can do to make cardio fun.

  1. Ipods- if you haven’t got an ipod then get one.  Music really helps keep you motivated when running on the treadmill I know if I did not have my ipod I would never keep going as long as I do.  Compile a play list of high energy tunes to give you that boost when on the treadmill.
  2. TV- run on a treadmill that has a TV in front of it.  If you get into a TV show you will usually get carried away with the TV show and forget how long you have been running for.  The biggest problem with running on treadmills is watching the time this makes it feel for ever, a TV is a great way to distract you from clock watching.
  3. Variety- do 10 minutes on each bit of cardio equipment in the gym.
  4. Sport- cardio does not need to be a monotonous exercise like a treadmill it can be a sport, getting into a sport can be a great fun way to lose weight.
  5. Get a personal trainer-having a personal trainer gives you that extra motivation and they can make your workouts alot more fun so you don’t have to think about it.
