Below are some common fat loss myths many people believe today.

  1. Wearing a bin bag in the sauna is a great way to burn fat- will make you lose body water no fat, also quite dangerous if your not careful.
  2. Not eating is a great way to lose weight- you lose muscle mass and end up putting on more weight in the long run as the body goes into a starvation phase and stores more body fat.
  3. Running as fat as you can is the best way to burn fat- great for boosting heart performance but not the best way to burn fat, you need to do longer duration training at a slower pace.
  4. Drinking champagne and gin and slim line tonic will not make you fat- both champagne and gin and slim line tonic are still high in calories and you will get a lot fatter than if you didn’t have them.
  5. Sit ups and crunches burn stomach fat – they don’t they tone the muscle underneath
