Which are the healthiest fish to eat?

Fish is a great source of protein.  Fish contains essential fatty acids and healthy fats that help with reducing cholesterol.  Fish has been eaten as a good source of protein by athletes, bodybuilders and some of the longest people living for decades.  The only problem with some fish is the mercury content which can be damaging for newborn and fetuses.  Pregnant mothers are advised to keep away from different types of fish.  Bigger fish have more mercury as a rule of thumb.  Different fish have different mercury levels below is a list of some low mercury fish.

  1. Anchovies
  2. Clam
  3. Crab
  4. Haddock
  5. Oyster
  6. Salmon
High mercury fish (three servings or less a month)
  1. Tuna
  2. Seabass
Extremely high mercury (avoid if possible)
1.  Marlin
2.  Shark
3.  Swordfish
