How long do my workouts need to be?

January 25th, 2010

Most people I see in gyms workout for far too long, they split their workouts up with chatting to friends and the workout becomes less and less productive since the time they walked in the gym to workout and the time they leave, workout length is very important and directly related to results.  I keep my workouts to  55 minutes, this includes warm up and stretching to, I believe you can get all you need done in this time.   You don’t need to do 10 sets on biceps and a full  body workout every session, you need to stick to one or two body parts at a time, complete sets quite close back to back resting after each set for roughly 45 seconds.  Keeping your workouts to a strict time keeps the intensity up making your workout a lot more productive.  Most people who workout for 1 hour and 30 minutes are only actually working out for about 40 minutes of that.  The intensity that we train has a direct relationship with how good we look.
