I want to get big arms should I work them twice as much as my other body parts?

When I originally wanted to increase the size of my arms I trained them more regularly and with more sets than the rest of my body, but did they grow much faster?, No!  When we rest is when we grow and often it is only when we rest a body part more we get better results.  I find these days to get the best growth out of my biceps I train them hard with quite a few sets twice a week for 6 weeks then take a week off arm training and start again the same procedure.  The weeks rest makes all the difference in the growth and I find when I start back training I am so much stronger and my arms really grow because of that resting time.
