Nutrition mistakes

March 25th, 2009

  1. Training alone will help you reach your goals- unless you train and eat correctly you won’t see good results.  One without the other is no good.  If you just train you will be working out the muscles but with no food to feed the repairing muscles nothing much will happen.  If you just eat you will get fat as the food is not being used to build muscle by training.
  2. Supplements can be used to replace a good diet- supplements are to only be used to supplement your nutrition not as a main source.
  3. Follow fitness magazine diets- these are usually incorrect and tell people they need twice as much protein as they actually do to ensure they buy the protein shakes they advertise in their magazines.
  4. Eat everything- a lot of people think that to get big muscles they need to eat everything this is not correct only eat the healthy stuff.
  5. Fat is bad- you need good fats and without them you won’t develop a good physique.
  6. Using other peoples diets- just because a diet works for one particular person does not mean it will work for you.  We all have different body types and genetics so have to adjust our diets accordingly.  For example someone who is an ectomorph will need a lot more calories than an endomorph to build muscle.
