Reformer pilates has grown hugely popular in the past couple of years, with many of Hollywood’s A Listers swearing by this form of Pilates as a way of life. Based on Joseph Pilates principles of 100 years ago when in a World War 1 camp he helped his comrades who were bed ridden to use their beds and other props they could find to produce a resistance workout whilst they were lying in bed. Joseph would use the bedsprings, cables and pulleys attached to their hospital beds to get the patients to use their muscles and stop their muscles from deteriorating. Today’s reformer is a sophisticated version of what they had around in their days. The reformer provides a safe system of springs, pulleys and straps that work together to provide a no impact resistance and stretching workout, strengthening your muscles and improving postural alignment.

Pilates at “My Fitness Studio” is done in a 1-1 environment so we can closely watch your technique and ensure you are working out the muscle groups and core in a safe controlled environment. Our Pilates instructors are also trained in Rehab and can work closely with your Physio or Chiropractor or our Chiropractor getting your body back functioning like before. As Pilates provides a no impact form of resistance training it is excellent for rehabilitation work.

We also offer Mat Pilates classes in groups of up to 6 people.
