Prenatal personal training

May 7th, 2009

A carefully designed exercise programme by a personal trainer who knows about prenatal fitness in detail can keep you healthy and more comfortable during your pregnancy also possibly easing and hastening your delivery.

Before any exercise regime like this you must first check with your doctor that you are ok to exercise in this way.

  1. Stretching exercises can be done daily but be careful not to over stretch as pregnancy causes joints to loosen.
  2. Regular exercise three times a week can be performed but don’t push your self beyond a moderate sweat or so that you are to out of breath.

Exercising in this way during pregnancy can give you the following benefits.

  • Enhanced circulation
  • Increased stamina and energy
  • Minimized stretch marks
  • Minimised postpartum depression
  • Feeling more relaxed
  • Improved calcium absorption
  • Reduced water tension
  • Reduced weight gain

Exercise both before the birth and after the birth is a good idea and if your doctor gives it the go ahead then I strongly recommend it.  I have personally had a lot of experience training women before pregnancy and after and many of them have personally thanked me for saving them the money on a tummy tuck they thought they would have to have after.  Call 02089603655 to book a free consultation with me about prenatal personal training.
