RSI advice

January 6th, 2010

This week I have been doing a lot of writing for the different blogs I have and I am now definitely starting to feel the sign of RSI.  Last night my right hand started curling up, when I put it flat on the table it wanted to levitate up into a crunched position.  I have had RSI previously so took a few days off typing and it got better, this time however I have a lot of typing to do over the next few weeks so don’t want to take the time off.  I have been looking at RSI advice sites and many advise voice recognition software and to my amazement it is now at a level of 99% accuracy and goes much faster than you can type.  I have always been weary before as I have never heard of many people using it but apparently now it is reasonably wide used.  Hopefully when it arrives the next blog posts I should be able to demonstrate its effectiveness.  If voice recognition is at this level then it is certainly a good way to avoid RSI something that plagues many of my clients, I have had clients take a month off the gym due to serious RSI.  Most of these cases can be avoided if they were to not use their laptop sitting on a couch but instead sit at a table with a proper posture chair and an elevated laptop.
