Squats becoming neglected by men and women

Squats are becoming neglected by men and women and as personal trainers we are really trying to stress their importance.  When I first started lifting weights I used to use various machines to build strong legs and thought my legs were pretty strong.  When I finally got around to doing free-weight squats I realized how weak my legs actually were.  Free-weight squats are the best leg strengthening exercise you can do in my opinion for both men and women.  When your doing squat make sure you are coming right down don’t just move about 3 inches get a nice full range of motion.  Squats are ideal for women to, there is no need to go as heavy as men but high rep deep squats will certainly tone and strengthen your legs.  Squats work both the hamstring, glutes and quadriceps so gives a great overall leg workout.  If your not doing squats already make sure you start including them in your workout.
