The 20 minute cardio rule that personal trainers recommend

November 24th, 2008

When running on treadmills there is one rule that you want to go by that most personal trainers recommend this is the 20 minute rule.  The body burns fat best after 20 minutes of cardio exercise.  Initially we don’t burn off fat first but eat into our energy supply it is only really after 20 minutes that the body starts to tackle the fat.  We suggest running for around forty minutes if you cant do this now then make it your goal to build up to it.  40 minute runs three times a week is one of the best ways to burn fat fast.
