The benefits from regular sun exposure

Although we are constantly warned of the dangers from the sun we shouldn’t forget the benefits from the sun.  The sun is a great provider of vitamin D and around 50,000-60,000 cancer deaths in the USA alone could have been prevented if people had had more vitamin D modern research shows.  In the UK, the preventable cancer deaths from sufficient Vit D may be up to 20% due to oral intake being low and the Vit D from the sun is much lower than in the USA.  As long as you put sun cream on and don’t stay in the sun for extreme lengths of time then getting in the sun is a great idea.  Vitamin D is a vitamin we should all really think about as it has such great benefits.

Role in insulin secretion

Protection against some cancers
