The perfect bicep curl

November 5th, 2009

When it comes to performing any exercise perfectly what we are talking about is getting the perfect movement.  With a bicep curl you want to ensure your elbows are touching your sides, you let the bar start from touching the top of your legs and finish with bar touching your legs.  You only lift the bar up to 6 inches directly in front of your shoulder and then lower it back down.  You should only lift a weight that you can manage to keep this form with don’t try and lift really heavy to show off in the gym but swinging your back to get the bar to the top of the rep.  Perform your bicep curls at a pace of around 1.5 seconds on the way up and 1.5 on the way down.  Make sure when you get to the top of the rep you tense and clench the bicep and relax fully at the bottom of the rep.
