Watch out for ice on the roads?
December 16th, 2008At this time of year I am always surprised by the number of joggers in the parks and on the streets. I always remember what my motorcycle driving instructor said to me “in the winter months take a taxi or catch a bus!” he said this for a reason, motorcycles on ice or snow is very, very dangerous. Jogging outside in these months can be dangerous to, people die each year in December from slipping on ice on steps and paths. Slow down at steps during these months and keep an eye out for ice or come and train with us at Personal training studios during these months. The other thing I am always surprised about with joggers not to do with ice, is the number of joggers who run across roads only looking briefly as they don’t want to slow down to cross a road as they want to keep their heart rate up, you can still keep your heart rate up jogging on the spot at the traffic lights! Be very careful this winter.
