What is a healthy blood pressure?

Blood pressure is the pressure exerted by circulating blood on the blood vessel walls. Every time your heart beats blood pressure varies between systolic and diastolic pressures. When we measure blood pressure we are given a reading of both the systolic and diastolic pressures.
Normal blood pressure
Systolic – under 140
Diastolic – under 90
Borderline blood pressure
Systolic – under 160
Diastolic – under 95
High blood pressure
Systolic – 160 and baove
Diastolic – 95 or above
Blood pressure is a good indication of heart health, you want normal blood pressure throughout your life to ensure you keep away from heart disease, strokes, kidney failure, heart failure and many other serious health problems. Its good to check your blood pressure once a month so you can adapt your fitness regime to your blood pressure result if necessary.
