Why to work the bicep from different angles?

November 2nd, 2009

To many, the bicep curl seems like a very simple exercise and they can’t understand why it makes any difference to do a preacher curl over a standing bicep curl.  I thought this to when I first started out but over the years have worked out my biceps standing, lying down, over the bench etc  To get an incredible shaped bicep that is thick when you look at it from the front and from the side you need to hit it from lots of different angles and rep movements.  Hammer curls for example make the bicep thicker when looking at it when facing someone and standing normal bicep curls make it look thicker when looking at it from the side.  Intense exercise like 7’s where you perform 7 reps of half the range of movement then 7 the other half of the movement then 7 the complete movement tone the biceps and help improve the vascularity many people want.  Try lots of different bicep exercises and see which work best for you.
